I thought I had lost this, but found it today in my ARC copy of Paper Towns. I thought I would share it here, with all you scavenger hunt Nerdfighters, because it is part of what inspired this project!
Basically what you are looking at above, is a clue left by The Yeti in Oakbrook, Illinois back in November of 2007.
Later, on 8-8-08, I had Hank sign it as well. Looking at all the signatures coming out of this Tour de Nerdfighting it looks like his signature is a lot smoother now! (Lots of practice lol)
Alright nerdfighters. This may look like a short clue but it’s kinda complex (well, only sort of).
First we start with a theme. In Your Pants.
Oh the places we can go…
So to start, did you know that the “In Your Pants” jokes started back in January of 2007? That joke is basically as old as nerdfighteria. In fact, it’s older than nerdfighteria because we woudn’t even have the word nerdfighteria for a while… but I digress.
So job number 1. Count how many times John and Hank use the exact phrase “In Your Pants” during January 2007. There is a shortcut to figuring this out.
Got it? Surprisingly high, isn’t it?
Now take that number and head over to Your Pants. (the website, not the ones sitting on the end of your bed). Find the post that starts with the number you counted (yeah, I hope you got it right!) and there you will find out how to end the clue.
Hint: It’s somewhere in general discussions in a place that makes sense.

Clue 8!
Everything’s bigger in Texas right? So of course the clue needs to be bigger!
Don’t worry. It’s not longer. It just takes up more space.
Once again you’re getting the theme of the clue because that is your main hint to the whole thing.
HankGames!
HankGames is so large that we had to come up with a more creative way of covering this information. And one of the things we really love about these videos is that they are so quotable.
So therein lies your challenge – identify which quotes go to which video. There are quotes here from all three of you in a few different videos.
Once you’re done putting them in numerical order (based on the number you assign the quote) take the first letter of every quote and enter it into a dft.ba link. That will take you to a video where you will find your final instructions for this clue in the comments.
A quick hint: There are 6 quotes for each of you (Hank, Katherine, John) for a total of 18 quotes.

Here’s Clue 7 Nerdfighters! We hope Hank, John, and you all are enjoying them and having fun going through some great Vlogbrothers moments (among other things) while solving!
Heya Hank and John,
So this is a short one text wise because once you receive your first set of instructions it’ll lead you to the end of the clue directly (we’re changing up the format a bit, you know keep from getting stale, etc).
You may have noticed that you both talk a lot about animal related things in your videos. No, seriously, a LOT. Puppy sized elephants, giraffes, french the llama, cows, goat sex… I mean basically Vlogbrothers is one step away from being a very odd spin-off of Animal Planet.
So really, we couldn’t help but make an animal themed clue. It was kind of obligatory.
Note: If you feel like you can’t solve a clue, just look for us in the comments and we’ll supply a hint. A small one, but a hint nonetheless.

Things are getting interesting…
Jumping right in, since we do have a lot to get through here and we wouldn’t want to get shocked or anything.
There are things you guys do a lot of regularly. You’ve done one particular thing every year, for the past 5 years. There aren’t too many things that fit that category, right? Ok, now think of the 4th time of the 5. Put the 4 digit number associated with it into those handy links. Note: spell it out.
If you get it wrong… well trial and error probably never killed anyone. To make sure you’re at the right link, your video should be 3:21 long.
Alrighty (I’m noticing we say that a lot. Weird.), at this video (LINK TO CHRISMTAS VIDEO OF THIS YEAR) you list some stuff. That list sort of has something to do with what you just worked on. Number 3 in that list is where we’re heading now. Again, type that into dft.ba. (no “the”).
